Teaser Tuesday

teaser tuesdayTeaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teaser Tuesday for this week comes from the last two lines of Chapter Five in MURDER AT THE MAPLES by Joanne Phillips.

murder at the maples coverShe cried for the Captain,

and for her mum and dad.

But underneath it all,

she cried for herself.

A very enjoyable book so far. I’ll be reviewing it here on October 16th and Joanne will be writing a guest post.

  1. I’m reading Clay Mitchell’s Amid the Ashes and the Dust. It’s a book about starting over, and brand new. My teaser comes from page 59: ” The luscious smell of fresh fried fish filled the truck as they drove over to Brownie Farrell’s channel side condo to share their food and stories. Brownie’s surname was Scott, but he was only child of a family of four kids to have darker skin and black hair, thus the nickname.” The book is pretty good, and I’ll review it on GoodReads once I’m done. (I won this book from Goodreads/FirstReads)

  2. This teaser sort of ‘echoed’ inside of me, I think I’d like the narration. And the cover’s really cute. I shall definitely think about Joanne Phillips’ book. 🙂 Thanks for sharing honey.
