Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser Tuesday:
I’d never tailed a car before.
I’d read a lot of Sue Grafton novels when I was in college, though.
The book it comes from is called SAVING GRACE by Pamela Fagan Hutchins. Pamela is going to be here on my blog on November 4th so be sure to stop by.
Multi-awardwinning, Bestselling Romantic Mystery Series Saving Grace kicks the Katie & Annalise series off with voodoo, laughs, and suspense. Katie Connell is a high-strung attorney whose sloppy drinking habits and stunted love life collide hilariously during a doomed celebrity case in Dallas. She flees Texas for the Caribbean and escapes professional humiliation, a broken heart, and a wicked Bloody Mary habit, but ends up trading one set of problems for another when she begins to investigate the suspicious deaths of her parents on the island of St. Marcos. She’s bewitched by the voodoo spirit of an abandoned house in the rainforest and discovers that she’s as much a danger to herself as the island’s bad guys are.

That sounds funny. Kind of like when Piper cites books as examples of suggested prison behavior in Orange Is the New Black. Anyhoo, here’s my Teaser Tuesday

From ‘The Cat’s Pajamas’ by Gilbert Morris. “Finally she added, ‘C.S.Lewis said after he lost his wife that one of the things that hurt him most was the little jokes they had, things that no one else would understand. That was gone forever.’ “

I didn’t post this on my blog, but I was reading The Holdout by Laurel Osterkamp: I sit back and wait for my verdict, a unanimous vote in this civil case, and the awarding of damages to the tune of “we’re sorry.” “You’d win me over, Robbie.”
