INTERVIEW WITH PAMELA ROSE
Hello Pamela and welcome! Tell us a little bit about yourself and your books.
I’ve currently published three books: The first one is “The Eyes of the Jaguar” and it’s a mystery adventure spanning five centuries and two countries. The second is called “A Thyme to Harvest” and it’s a mystery cozy set in the South. My third book, “Sherlock’s Home: The Adventure of the Contentious Crone” is also a mystery cozy set in the South and the first in the Finn Sherlock series. Each book has been a labor of love for me. Strangely, the crafting of words for me is bliss. I think I learned the value of making each word count when I started in radio. Air time is limited and expensive; a writer has only thirty or sixty seconds to communicate the message as succinctly and economically as possible. That means each word has to pack a lot of punch. Writing books is no different. I can spend an unbelievable amount of time just trying to find the exact word, the right nuance to communicate with my reader. Mark Twain said it best: “The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.”
