PLAYING WITH POISON

I am in a lot of reader and writer groups. And I get really sick of hearing so many snide remarks about writers who choose to self publish on Amazon. They are always on about poor editing, stories that never should have seen the light of day, people who should go through years of rejection and come up the hard way. Jealousy and bullshit IMHO. First of all, many writers are making the choice to self publish, they aren’t doing it because it is their only option. (I know I had the choice of a publisher, a major publisher, but in the end, I made the choice to do it myself because I wasn’t willing to give up control.) I am sure there are many horrible books on Kindle, as there are in print by major publishers. But I pick my Kindle books like I pick my hard copies. I don’t just grab one because it is free. I use the “Look Inside” option, read the blurb, read the reviews, and I haven’t come across any I didn’t enjoy. As a matter of fact, some of the best books I have read this past year, have been self published.  PLAYING WITH POISON by Cindy Blackburn is one such book. A mature, funny protagonist. A hint of romance. A mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. What more can you ask for? Protagonist Jessie Hewitt is a pool shark, former hustler, daughter of a famous pool player, recently divorced, and a successful Romance writer under a pen name. The boyfriend of Jessie’s friend and neighbor bursts into Jessie’s apartment, collapses on her couch and dies. The cops suspect Jessie and/or her friend so Jessie investigates the victim’s fellow workers in the financial world and all their friends at the local bar. You won’t want to put this down. Get it today on your Kindle, it happens to be FREE today!! ♥♥♥♥♥ + + + http://www.amazon.com/Playing-with-Poison-ebook/dp/B009D99R0I/ref=tmm_kin_title_0
